Darwin House is a multi-award winning luxurious residential home for the elderly, some with early dementia needs, beautifully furnished facilities for residential accommodation to respite care, minutes away from local amenities and the Peak District.
I have found that Darwin House provides excellent care and that staff are supportive and welcoming.
Managers are readily available and team leaders are quick to meet any particular needs that are identified.
Overall, I draw great comfort from the environment created and understanding shown.

The standard of care, the staff and the quality of the home is exceptional. The staff are like a large family and nothing is too much trouble. When we took my old aunt, she was very distressed and very soon they took her under their wing and now she just loves it.

Brilliant facilities but it’s all about the staff. They are amazing, caring, compassionate, jolly and efficient. They made sure that my mum’s long-term stay was excellent, happy and safe. I cannot recommend highly enough. We were so grateful and fortunate to have found Darwin House for Mum.

Both my mum and dad are living together at Darwin House. The rooms have generous proportions, separate lounge and bedroom, and it is one of the few places that allows them to stay together as a couple. The communal areas are very pleasant and have a lovely comfortable, homely feel – carpets throughout rather than cold, hard corridors, fresh flowers in the hallway. My parents always tell me how wonderful the staff are, and I can see that they are being cared for with great warmth and compassion. It feels a relaxed, homely and happy environment.
